Compulsive is the informal definition of (paTHəˈläjək(ə)l) where a person, even though he knows that we know that he is lying, still can’t help but lie. Trump fits this definition in spades. Sure Hillary has lied as well but not so blatantly as Donald. He seems unable (or unwilling) to help himself even though we have evidence to the contrary. He dismisses evidence away or outright denies he ever said such and such. The buck never stops at the Trump. It’s always someone else’s fault. His comments about ethnicities are racist plain and simple and yet will not answer a direct question about them. Will this attitude toward the truth “make American great again?” I think not.
There has to be a bit of arrogance in running for the office of president, but the good of the country is always the main motivation. I think in Trump’s case he has no interest in making “America Great Again” instead he seems to be trying to make himself great-er. I’ll leave it to the psychologists to figure that one out. He talks a good game, but his words, although inflammatory are really empty lacking in substance. There is no “there” there. His sound bites seem to appeal to people who think they have been wronged by “them” whomever “them” happens to be at the moment. His oft used term, “trust me…” rings hollow since I personally find it hard to trust him. Take his word for it? Nope, not unless I see evidence. He reminds me of a 19th century “cure-all” salesman, all smoke and mirrors with nothing of substance. His attacks on Mexicans specifically are not rooted in fact (that would be too difficult to verify…it takes work). And since Mexico is a close trading partner, don’t even make sense. Even the Wall Street Journal lays out the simple facts contradicting the GOP’s nominee’s talking points.
You and me as patriotic Americans need to put the flag down for a moment and think about what is best, BEST for the country as a whole and not what is just the good of any political party. We need to pull together as a country and reject phony promises and phony universities and phony rhetoric all together. America is great already. I don’t think we need a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S. oh yeah, and one with a 7th grader’s thin skin sitting in the Oval Office.
and so it goes…
