Advent Calendar – Day 26

Today is December 23,2011, the last week of Advent before Christmas. One of today’s reading comes from the book of Malachi. “Behold, I send my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.” (Mal 3:1).

There is a day of reckoning coming hopefully within the next year or so when the playing field will be leveled and all will be given an equal opportunity to succeed. The American dream is still attainable in spite of the slings and arrows that flow around Washington keeping people ducking and weaving. Passing the payroll tax holiday is a start. Much more needs to be done. With the new Republican “jobs” website one would think there would actually be a list of accomplishments on the creation of actual jobs instead of the ideological clap trap we have heard for months and months contained on the site.

Pray for the unemployed and the working poor this season (actually extend it further down the road). It is a difficult time for families and especially for the youngsters who, through no fault of their own may be having a thin Christmas.

and so it goes…

A little song, a little dance, a little coffee down your pants... 40 years in the high school classroom and now on my own. A chance to think about stuff and how it affects everyone, not just me. Now residing in Oregon volunteering for a refugee organization.
