Advent Calendar – Day 10

I can see Russia from here!

Today is December 6, 2011-The readings of today include a passage from Matthew: “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?” (Matthew 18:12) Oh golly, the sheep! They’re every where! And they are all lost. They honestly think Newt Gingrich is presidential.  How can we get them back to the farm and safety? A good way to start is by teaching them how to think again. Thinking has become a lost art for many over the past several years. Thinking has been usurped and willingly handed over to others. Sigh…a mind is a terrible thing to waste…and wasted they are, and I don’t mean in the fun sense.

But the lost can be found. Fox’s ratings have slowly started to erode, not a lot, but enough to take notice. But there is hope that these lost sheep will be found and that the national rift can be healed. We also hope that the uniquely human desire for truth and community is attainable. Push back the darkness and come into the light. Yes, there is still hope for John Huntsman…

and so it goes…

A little song, a little dance, a little coffee down your pants... 40 years in the high school classroom and now on my own. A chance to think about stuff and how it affects everyone, not just me. Now residing in Oregon volunteering for a refugee organization.
