Advent Calendar – Day 9

Today is December 5, 2011-The reading of today include a passage from Luke: “And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen strange things today.” (Luke 5:26) Very strange things indeed, from Trump moderating a debate…ego y ego. (Is Fox News secretly trying to destroy the Republican party by putting Trump and Gingrich together?) To Michele Bachmann’s latest awkward encounter with an 8 year-old who’s mom is gay and “doesn’t need fixing.” I’m not sure if the debates should be entertaining…probably not. Without Herman, there is no real reason to watch this Trump pilot for un-reality TV disguised as a debate. Is it too late for whats-her-name oh yeah, Sarah Palin?

And what is it with poor children? Both Trump and Gingrich are targeting poor children to lift them up by having them work as janitors. How about targeting rich kids as well providing 10 of them with menial jobs so they can understand just how this country was formed. Just sayin’ Yeah, I know they can get internships in dad’s (or mom’s) company.

’tis the season to reach out to one another, helping one another, giving each other a hand, like in the passage from Luke. (Luke 5:17-26) It’s a great story of people helping people.

and so it goes…

A little song, a little dance, a little coffee down your pants... 40 years in the high school classroom and now on my own. A chance to think about stuff and how it affects everyone, not just me. Now residing in Oregon volunteering for a refugee organization.
