It’s time for a break. Seems like everyone I know is taking a vacation going somewhere even Lebron is going to Miami. There must be something to this. As a retired person, my life this past year has been a vacation of sorts so why now? I guess I just want to be in a normal cycle. There is much that is happening in the world that desperately needs my keen insight and adept analysis, I know that and of course you know that. I feel the heavy burden to solve the problems of the day and I am sure you depend on me to do so but I also need to recharge my Energizer’s so this bunny can keep going and going.

This hiatus will last until Monday 2 August. By then we should be deep into the election season, the oil gusher will have been capped after Rush sits on it and the Gulf will be pristine again, and of course, there will be full employment. The world will be sailing along and I can jump back in anytime. Can you manage until then? Perhaps you can use this time to do your gardening, clean the garage and wash the car.

To keep you thinking and pondering the great issues of the day, remember what is most important, and that is remembering to listening to your own heart and act accordingly. Your heart is usually right. Oh, if you enrolled in Beck U. make sure you have a real history book because what passes as history lessons sadly aren’t. I’m not sure  you can get your $79 back though. But I digress… Listen to the heart. One of my favorite prophets was Elijah who really searched hard for the “truth” and did not find it in the noise, but in the quiet. Perhaps this a parable for our time.

He said: “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Now there was a great wind,so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence—
and then there came a voice to him that said,
“What are you doing here Elijah?”
—I Kings: 19:11-13

See you in August…And so it goes….
